How do I make a reservation?
Simply call your preferred travel agent or for more information call V’Spirit Cruises at +84-4-3 247 4488 or email to: sales@vspiritcruises.com or through our website by filling out reservation form at the right panel. When making a reservation, we require the following information for all guests: name, date of birth, gender, citizenship, passport number, emergency contact number, and any special requests… (i.e. dietary).
How do I pay my cruise?
All our rates are in US Dollars. You can make payment by cash, bank transfer, PayPal, OnePay or credit card (VISA, Master and AMEX).
How and when will I receive my travel documents?
As soon as your booking is confirmed and full payment has been made, our reservationist will email you a Cruise voucher. For assistance please call us at +84-4-3 247 4488 or email sales@vspiritcruises.com
How many suitcases can I bring?
Each person is allowed up to two pieces of personal luggage on board, with each piece weighing a maximum of 30 kilograms. Should passengers carry more than this amount, it is necessary to inform our reservation staff when booking your trip.
Will I need an electrical converter?
The current on board is 220 volts AC. However, some high-voltage hair dryers, electric rollers and electric razors may require a converter.
Do children cruise for free?
- Yes. Children below the age of 5 years old are free of charge (limited to two children per booking).
- Children under 5 years old are FOC, sharing room with parents.
- Children from 5 to 8 years old are charged 50%, sharing room with parents.
- Children from 9 to 11 years old are charged 75%, sharing room with parents.
How can we celebrate our special occasion?
We could arrange wine, flowers or bon voyage gifts, such as fruit baskets, champagne, birthday cakes, or local gifts for your celebration. With advance notice, we can also organize other theme parties on board, on shore (such as a barbeque on the beach) or in a cave. Please let us know at least two weeks before cruising.
What can’t I bring on-board?
Passengers are not allowed to bring on board the vessel any intoxicating liquors, or beverages, firearms, weapons of any kind, ammunition, explosive substances or any goods of a dangerous nature, nor animals of any kind, except service or guide animals, provided the passenger notifies Carrier prior to the cruise of his intention to bring such animal and agrees to take sole responsibility for any expense, damage, injuries or losses associated with or caused by such animal.
Any dress requirement?
No. Freestyle and comfortable is the word.
What if I am vegetarian?
We pride ourselves on serving fresh, creative food, including for vegetarians. For the convenience of our passengers, menus are displayed in cabins and in the dining room. We are happy to accommodate certain dietary restrictions provided we are notified in advance. Refreshments and snacks are available 24 hours a day in the lounge and dining room.
Do itineraries change?
Every effort will be made to follow the published itinerary – wind, weather, emerald water and the good nature providing. V’Spirit Cruises reserves the right to change, omit or add stops, change the route due to unforeseen circumstances.
Are charters available?
Yes. Choose existing itineraries or perhaps customize your own! Check out our cruises which accommodate up to 34 guests. Please ask your travel agent or contact us for special charter and group tariffs.
What is the cancellation policy?
Any change/ amendment of existing booking shall be considered as cancellation and a new booking shall be made. Penalty charge shall apply accordingly based on charge of each cancelled cabin as per below percentage:
Cancellation per person upon cancellation
- 7 days before departure date: No charge
- Less than 7 days to 3 days: 50% of fare
- Less than 3 days – Now Show: 100% of fare
Do I need to bring money on board?
Although our cruise fare includes mostly everything, you still should carry extra cash for personal expenditure such as drinks at bar, snacks or other personal services. Cash should be in Vietnam dong or US dollar. Credit card (VISA, Master) is also accepted on our junks.
When is the best time to visit Halong?
Summer is a good time to cruise on Halong Bay but the best time of year is during the spring or fall. Because the bay is situated in the northern part of the country, it can get colder in the fall and winter, and though you won’t see extremes such as blizzards, it’s still a lousy place to be when it gets cold.
Tip: You should bring a swimsuit with you.
How far is that from Hanoi to Halong Bay?
HaLong Bay is located 170 km away from Hanoi, this would take you about 3 – 3.5 hours on bus transfer to Halong city, bus trip normally leaves Hanoi by 8.30 am.
We will be hitting the road for Halong Bay through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta and the scenery of rice fields, water buffalo and everyday Vietnamese village life.
What kind of food on boat in Halong Bay?
Most of the meals offered with seafood as Halong Bay specialty is seafood; there is lots of sea dishes combined with traditional Vietnamese food, we are sure you will like the food on boat, if you are allergic with seafood, please inform your meal preference to our tour operator before your departure to Halong Bay.
Do we have to bring passport for sleeping on board?
Yes, you do have to bring it with you on boat and please provide us your full names, gender, passport number, visa expire date before your departure to Halong Bay.
Where does the boat anchor at night time?
After cruising to see the hidden wonders of Halong Bay, V’Spirit Cruises’s captain will find a suitable place (within the allowance areas) to anchor for the night, this place is normally inside the very calm bay surrounded by the islands.
Tip: Before we drop the anchor for the night, you will probably see the sunset so get your camera ready to take these wonderful moments.
Can we sleep outside on the top deck of the boat?
Yes, it is very nice to sleep outside there on the top-deck but please check this with our tour guide or the junk’s captain if the weather is fine to sleep outside. To note that we have very fine cabins designed with comforts of everything needed for a good sleep: natural rubber mattress, blanket, feather pillows and mosquito net and we can not bring this outside for you.
How many caves in Halong will we visit?
We will embark on the boat for a cruise amongst the islands and islets of this stunning Halong Bay. We will visit one cave on our 1 or 2 day trip, however, if you wish to visit more than one cave, we have to plan this well prior to departure so that our captain know where to go and please be informed an extra fee for each additional cave you plan to see.
Note: If the weather turns bad, we all have to follow the captain’s instruction, cave visit or extra cruise can be canceled without prior notice.
Do you have life jackets on cruise?
Yes, that is one compulsory requirement for any boat/junk in Halong Bay.
Tip: If you do not see this when boarding the junk, please ask for the instruction from the crew member or our captain.
What about seasick on boat?
If you look on Vietnam map, you will see Halong lies on the Tonkin Gulf with lots of island that made up Halong Bay. With its calm water, Halong Bay really acts as a shield that stops all the violent waves, so it’s hard to get sea sick in Halong Bay.
Tip: When the junk gets swinging, do not walk around on boat to avoid seasick.
